Good to know for Claude
Claude asks new members to verify a phone number with a 6-digit code sent by text. Anthropic says the number is used only for that check, to prevent spam and abuse.
- You sign in to Claude with your email or a Google account, not the phone number.
- Claude doesn’t let you change the number once it’s verified.

What if the Claude code doesn’t arrive?
Give it a minute, then ask Claude to send the code again. If no SMS reaches the number within 20 minutes, the order is refunded to your balance automatically, and you can try another country.
Will Claude accept the number?
Most apps accept our numbers, but no app accepts every number. If Claude rejects one, cancel the order before an SMS arrives and the money goes back to your balance.
Can I use the number again later?
No. The number receives codes only while its 20-minute window is open. Once you’re in, add an email or an authenticator app to your Claude account, so you can still sign in later.
Which country should I choose?
Keep Best available unless Claude needs a number from a particular country. It picks the country most likely to deliver for Claude.
